I thought I would start the week off with some pictures of beautiful blooms from this Spring around my neighbourhood. Spring’s exuberant colour has passed on the Westcoast and we are fully into the summer green and softer colours. Grass has not yet turned brown from drought and heat so our daily vista is fully green with touches of colour.
Here are a few pictures from the Spring blossoms.
It all starts with Crocuses:
Then appear the grape hyacinth, magnolia, and fawn lillies.
All the while, the plum trees are blooming filling the air with early perfume. Then comes the cherry trees with their snowball like pink blooms. Of course the pink snow follows as the leaves push off the petals to take over the branches.
Before they are done the Dogwood trees explode
Where rosemary grows it also blooms,
and the Laburnum drips its yellow clusters.
Not to be outdone, the Wysteria adds its soft purple and white to the pergolas and walkways of the neighbourhood houses.
Currently, the wild roses are lining the various walkways in the city, and they smell wonderful.
There are so many I have not included, here and the Lilacs can be seen in my previous post.
I hope wherever you live your Spring brought you as much joy as it does to me every year.
At the end of a long, dark, and wet winter Spring makes me happy.
Psalm 96:12 – Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
